9.3 Assessment Item Development
Assessment Target
In order to create a high quality assessment item, one should first identify the assessment target for their assessment item. An assessment target is a single sentence that describes the expectations of what will be assessed in an assessment item. This is different and more specific than the content standard. A content standard may be more broad and can have more than one assessment target. If your content standard has multiple assessment targets, you may choose one or more for your assessment item.

Digital Portfolio
Using the above information, identify the assessment target for your assessment item and add it to the item specification table in your Digital Portfolio under section 9.3.
